Mobed Mehraban Firouzgary

Mobed Mehraban Firouzgary is regarded as one of the Most Highly Respected Senior most Zarathushti Head Priest in Iran, as well as across the globe. He was born in Yazd, Iran on Yalda, the winter solstice night of December 21st considered to be the birth time of Meher Yazata.
He has been an inspiration for serving the worldwide Zoroastrian community, with a commendable willingness to share his wisdom and knowledge, as well as, for his outstanding contribution of numerous articles on various religious subjects.
He believes that: “Good and evil are not absolute but relative and that Sins are to be judged only by God. We ought to correct our thought, words and actions as needed to achieve a Happy and Harmonious Life."
He has been awarded the “Chehre Mandegar” (Everlasting personality) by the Tehran Zarthoshty Anjuman for his 5+ decades of selfless service to our community as well as humanity.
He has been appointed as the Marriage Registrar for Zoroastrians of Tehran, by the Justice Ministry of the Iranian government which he conducts with immense joy and pride. He has been a pioneer in Avesta recitations through the best researched pronunciations which he has spread through his conducted classes, teaching media, as well as audio recordings, together with his published Khordeh Avesta book, which has been standardized for teaching and public prayer recitations. He also “spearheaded the basis and graduation of eight lady mobedyars (para mobeds) in Iran.” Furthermore, being officiated in the Yasna rituals, he has trained five very proficient mobeds to replace him in that role.
He has represented Iran, and participated in panels in several venues: the Parzor UNESCO Filing of Novrooz amongst UNESCO’s World Cultural listings, The World Zoroastrian Congress in Tehran, and Tehran University celebrations of UNESCO’s declaration of the 2000th year of Iranian Culture. He has been involved in scores of national and international seminars on Iranian culture and interfaith meetings, the last being his Panel and Prayer sessions at the Ninth European Conference of Iranian Studies held at Berlin University, September 9th to the 13th 2019.
In addition to serving as a Mobed, he built an outstanding career that spanned over 5-decades, as an Industrial Electronics Engineer after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from India in 1958. For 10-years, he was employed by J. N. Marshall & Co - a Parsi Owned Engineering firm in India, where he held responsible and prominent positions as the Service and Branch Manager.
In 1968, he married Mehrangiz from Iran and a year later returned to Iran where he was first employed by IBM international and then transferred to Honeywell Controls in Tehran where he served as the Head of the Electrical and Instrumentation department for over 20+ years. Even though he officially retired in 1999, he continued working until 2016.
His name “Mehraban” means kind, but he is kinder than kind. He truly is a person who is “gifted with a spiritual and luminous face, emanating vibrant energy along with the knowledge, wisdom and ability to propagate the pristine message of our prophet Zarathushtra”. He is referred to by all who know him as a “Peer”, the eldest, and most enlightened dedicated Iranian mobed. But with utmost humility and modesty, he prefers to be addressed as “Mobed Mehraban Firouzgary”.

Mobed Soli P. Dastur


Born as the last of 11 children in a small village, Tarapur, India, to a priestly family from Udvada, Soli joined the M. F. Cama Athornan Institute, to complete all the requirements for becoming Navar, Martab and Saamel and was initiated as a full-fledged Mobed in the Udvada Iranshah Atash Behram.

In 1960, Soli completed his B. Chem. Eng. from the Bombay University, and M. S. and Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from the Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He joined the Procter & Gamble Co. in Cincinnati in 1964 and developed Marketing Data Analysis using UPCs, and Store Shelf Management Software for managing stocks in Grocery and Mass Merchandising industries. Soli was transferred to Brussels, Belgium, to train P&G salespeople in computer technology. After retiring from P&G in 1994, Soli worked as a partner in the Partnering Group for 5 years.

He has been performing Mobed duties all over Florida and North America wherever he is requested. He started and continued for 8 years the first ever annual all Florida Muktaad Gatha prayers in Miami in 2009. He is an active member of North American Mobeds Council (NAMC).

He conducted Zoroastrian Religious Classes (ZRC) in Tampa, Orlando and Miami. He started a teleconferencing ZRC and conducted 17 such Tele Classes (https://zoroastrians.net/category/z-tele-class/). Soli has published 399 Weekly Zoroastrian Scripture Extracts (WZSE) with translation and audio recitations (http://www.avesta.org/wzse/index.html), distributed to over 900 people. He has contributed articles in FEZANA and WZO Hamazor Journals.

At the 2010 North American Zoroastrian Congress, Houston, Soli was awarded the Rohinton Rivetna Outstanding Zarathushti Award. At the 2018 NAMC AGM in Washington DC, Soli was awarded the Distinguished Scholar Award. At the 2019 ZAF (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton) 25th Anniversary, Jo Ann and he received Ervad Darab B. Unwalla Award for 25 years of dedicated service to ZAF.

Soli is fully retired and lives in Bradenton, Florida with his wife Jo Ann of 54 years. They have twin daughters, Shirin and Anahita and five grandchildren. He is an avid tennis player and dabbles with the computer in his free time.

Mobed Ramin Shahzadi

Mobed Ramin Shahzadi, is the Grandson of Mobedan-e-Mobed, the Late Dr. Rostam Shahzadi, who was recognized as a national figure and revered as an embodiment of enlightenment, courage, and dedication in Iran.


Ramin holds the honor of being the youngest Mobed of Iran and is currently living in Berlin Germany with his wife Mobedyar Dr. Parva Namiranian, MD and children.

He has a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering (Industrial productions), and a Masters in Project Management. He has worked for about 10 years in the Oil, Gas and Energy companies in Iran.

He has participated and successfully completed the three-year training course of the Iranian Council of Mobeds (Hirbadi) in conjunction with a special training with senior Mobeds in Iran. Since 2009, he officially became a Mobed who performs rituals and ceremonies in Iran.

Besides working as an engineer and a Mobed, Ramin has also started another field of study in which he completed his M.A. in "ancient language and culture of Iran" in Tehran and presently, he is in Berlin studying for his Ph.D. which is focused on "contemporary Iranian Zoroastrian rituals and ceremonies".

Tinaz Karbhari

Tinaz Karbhari graduated with her Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Photography in 2009 and then went on to complete her Masters in Art & Design at Auckland University of Technology in 2013.

Following this, she worked at the National Business Review in Auckland, New Zealand managing all online and print advertising, photography and temporarily Art Directing.

She established her own photography company: TK Photography in 2009, covering a large range of events, whilst correspondingly freelancing for other photography and design companies, such as Getty Images. She is now based in Hong Kong.

Alongside her creative experience, Tinaz is heavily engaged and is committed to her Zoroastrian community globally. This is reflected in her participation and attendance in numerous Congress' as well as her position as Chair for the 6th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress, which took place in Auckland, New Zealand in 2015. Her commitment to the betterment of the Zoroastrian Community is further reflected with her current position as Trustee on the Zoroastrian Community Trust in Auckland, New Zealand and Global Youth Ambassador of the Iranshah Initiative.
